Free Flowing Rivers is a society of young people committed to raising awareness about the environmental and social destruction caused by building dams.
It is Free Flowing Rivers objective to provide an informational resource to illuminate these issues on both a local and a continental stage, creating knowledge transference between the many environmental groups that are combating this issue in their local communities.
Through education and advocacy, Free Flowing Rivers works to build capacity in communities threatened by dams. We are providing environmental knowledge and eco-tourism skills to the youth of areas potentially affected by dams, working with them to develop sustainable changes that they can implement within their communities. Free Flowing Rivers values the protection of the ecosystems that sustains communities, and their rights to strong bonds with their natural environments.
